Min. ReadIntroducing the Reverso One ‘Precious Colours’
Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Reverso collection is renowned for its iconic Art Deco design, and the Reverso One ‘Precious Colours’ is an extraordinary embodiment of this legacy. A bold feminine reinterpretation of the original Reverso spirit, this new timepiece, released in a limited edition of 10 pieces, is set in a white gold case (18k, 750/1000) and showcases a stunning fusion of enamel and gem-setting.
First introduced in 1931, the Reverso quickly became an emblem of Art Deco design. Originally crafted for polo players, it transitioned into a favorite among women, with its blank metal caseback inviting personal adornment. Over the years, Jaeger-LeCoultre has explored countless artistic possibilities for the double-sided case, creating a true canvas for intricate decorations.
The ‘Precious Colours’ edition is a tribute to Art Deco’s clean lines and geometric patterns, drawing influence from the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Featuring sharp angles, vibrant colours, and gleaming metal accents, the design radiates a timeless elegance, now reinterpreted by the Maison’s skilled artisans in the Métiers RaresTM atelier.
The caseback of the Reverso One ‘Precious Colours’ is a masterpiece, with its intricate geometric design. Combining miniature grand feu enamel painting and diamond-setting, the creation process requires exceptional precision. The enamelling involves multiple steps, including the application of opaque white enamel, the delicate hand-painting of vivid colours, and several firings at high temperatures, resulting in a rich, durable surface that resembles glass.
The piece is further adorned with 277 diamonds (1.59 carats), carefully set by expert gem-setters using the grain-setting technique. The entire process of creating the enamelled design and setting the diamonds takes over 100 hours, demonstrating the precision and dedication that goes into each piece.
Flipping the swivelling case reveals the true beauty of the Reverso One ‘Precious Colours’. The dial, glowing with white mother-of-pearl, is complemented by vibrant enamel accents and diamonds. Pastel shades of grey, pink, and mauve merge seamlessly with dark purple, white, and yellow accents, creating a captivating play of depth and light.
The watch is powered by the hand-wound Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 846, which offers a 50-hour power reserve. The watch is finished with a white alligator strap and a reversible diamond-adorned crown, further enhancing its luxurious appeal.
