Piaget Polo 79 is a watch that screams vintage and has retro vibes. Now that I've used the two most popular words in the watch industry, we can look at that gold nugget on this wrist. The modern version of Polo, Yves Piaget's interpretation of the bracelet watch, has a 38mm diameter case. The case thickness of the watch is only 7.35mm. The case, water resistant to 50 meters, has sapphire crystals on both sides. The model is powered by the micro-rotor automatic Caliber 1200P1 with a 44-hour power reserve.
Compared to the original model, the diameter has expanded to 38mm from 34mm. Additionally, the quartz movement in the original watch has been replaced by an ultra-thin automatic movement. On the other hand, the sparkling appearance and heft that Piaget Polo provides with the unlimited use of gold in the case, dial, hands and bracelet continues to exist in the new model.
Polo 79 looks more like a bracelet with a watch than a watch with a bracelet. The form on the bracelet continues on the case and dial of the watch. The puzzle-like structure that brings the links together and the interlocking gold pieces are also included in the case to ensure unity.
I think we will be seeing a rectangular version of this watch in the future.
