The place of independent watchmaking in the world of horology is undeniably important. Watches adorned with extraordinary details by special watchmakers adorn the dreams or wrists of many enthusiasts. A new representative from the Far East has joined the independent watchmaking race, where European manufacturers dominate.
Qin Gan from Chongqing, China, introduced the Pastorale II model. As the name suggests, this watch is not Qin's scientific watch. The watchmaker, who previously demonstrated the extraordinary success he showed in the Pastorale I model in the Quarter Strike prototype, aimed to bring together refined lines and perfect details in his latest design.
Measuring 38.5mm x 9.5mm, with 18-carat white or rose gold case options, the watches feature breathtaking features in every detail. The watches have different colored dials for each case version, and their indexes are filled with black enamel. Models with sapphire crystal glass and back cover can offer water resistance of up to 30 meters.
The dial, completed with mirror-polished and flame-blued stainless-steel hands, is crowned with the logo prepared in Chinese. On the back, you can see the winding caliber 1810, which is based on the Longines 30L caliber, many of its parts are hand-made, and expert workmanship is evident in every detail. The 18-jewel caliber beats at 18000 vibrations per hour and has a power reserve of 36 hours.
Qin Gan has a limited production capacity of 15 units per year. The list price of the watches was announced as 46,000 USD + taxes. Chinese manufacturers are famous for the watches they offer at affordable prices in the cheap segment, but Pastorale II is definitely not a watch that fits this description. It turns out that Qin Gan is trying to break the image of Chinese watches associated with cheapness in the most difficult and specific way possible.
