Min. ReadTudor is expanding the Black Bay 58 lineup with a striking new all-burgundy color scheme, introducing some exciting updates along the way. Burgundy has been a signature color for the Black Bay collection since its debut in 2012, with the original burgundy-bezeled "Smiley" model still highly regarded by collectors. However, this new version not only brings a fresh red aesthetic but also introduces some significant changes to the Black Bay 58 series.
Inspired by a 1990s Tudor Submariner prototype, this new Black Bay 58 features a full burgundy design, including both the bezel and the dial. The color is a deep, cherry red that is radially brushed to enhance its shine, giving it a modern feel while keeping the classic design that made the Black Bay so popular. The bezel insert is still made from aluminum, maintaining the vintage look of the Black Bay 58, but the overall aesthetic is more contemporary, with silver-tone hands, indices, and printing—similar to what we saw in last year’s Black Bay Monochrome.
The case remains at the same 39mm diameter, which continues to be a perfect fit for a wide range of wrists. One of the major updates is the introduction of a new steel five-link bracelet, providing a fresh, refined look compared to the traditional three-link bracelet with faux rivets. The watch also comes with a rubber strap that can be cut to size. All options feature the Tudor "T-fit" clasp, allowing easy on-the-fly adjustments of up to 8mm. The water resistance remains at 200 meters (660 feet), keeping it suitable for daily wear and diving.
One of the most exciting updates for this Black Bay 58 Burgundy is its METAS Master Chronometer certification, a first for this model. While the certification was previously seen in the Black Bay 58 GMT, the Burgundy model now proudly features this prestigious certification, ensuring exceptional precision and performance. With a timekeeping rating of 0/+5 seconds per day, alongside impressive anti-magnetism and water resistance properties, the movement inside is the MT5400-U caliber, with an amagnetic silicon balance spring for enhanced durability.
This new burgundy edition of the Black Bay 58, reference M7939A1A0RU, is now available at authorized Tudor retailers, offering both a refined look and high-end technical specifications.
