Min. ReadPatek Philippe is expanding its legacy of haute horlogerie with the new Quadruple Complication Ref. 5308G-001, an exceptionally sophisticated timepiece now part of the brand’s permanent collection. Originally introduced in 2023 as the Tokyo-exclusive 5308P-010, this watch is making its way into the mainstream catalog for Watches and Wonders 2025.
Housed in a 42mm white gold case with a thickness of 16.16mm, the 5308G-001 combines four major complications: a split-seconds chronograph, a minute repeater, and an instantaneous perpetual calendar. It builds on the foundation of the 2011 Ref. 5208 but takes things further by integrating a rattrapante function.
Powering this mechanical marvel is the self-winding Caliber R CHR 27 PS QI, featuring a platinum mini-rotor for efficient energy distribution. The movement advances all perpetual calendar indications simultaneously at midnight, ensuring precision and reducing manual adjustments. Additionally, Patek has improved the minute repeater’s efficiency by 20% while refining the energy flow and compacting the rattrapante mechanism.
The watch’s dial is finished in a sunburst blue, a striking contrast to the salmon-colored Tokyo edition. It retains a contemporary yet refined appearance, with applied white gold markers and crisp white chronograph hands enhancing legibility. The exhibition caseback provides a full view of the intricate movement, making it as much a collector’s masterpiece as a technical achievement.
The Ref. 5308G-001 is a statement piece—an ultimate expression of Patek Philippe’s expertise in high complications. Whether for connoisseurs seeking the pinnacle of craftsmanship or collectors desiring an engineering marvel, this watch stands as a testament to the brand’s watchmaking prowess.
