Min. ReadJaeger-LeCoultre is unveiling the Reverso Tribute Geographic, a refined interpretation of the iconic travel time complication, powered by the newly developed Calibre 834. This elegant timepiece is available in stainless steel or an 18k pink gold case, with the latter limited to 150 pieces. Showcasing the Reverso’s signature dual-face design, the reverse side features a world time display, reinforcing the model’s legacy as a platform for innovation since its debut in 1931.
Originally created to withstand the rigors of polo matches, the Reverso has evolved far beyond its sporting roots. Its distinct Art Deco design and reversible case remain unchanged, but the model has continuously embraced horological advancements. While the Reverso was initially produced as a simple time-only watch, Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced complications in the 1990s, requiring intricate modifications to accommodate the rectangular case while maintaining harmonious aesthetics and legibility.
A world time complication not only provides practical functionality but also evokes a spirit of travel and adventure. The concept traces back to 1884 when standard global time was established with the Greenwich Meridian as the prime reference. Though world time complications have existed for over a century, it was in 1931 that Geneva watchmaker Louis Cottier introduced the first successful mechanism. Jaeger-LeCoultre, having mastered this function with the Memovox World Time in 1958, has since incorporated it into several collections. Now, in 2025, the Reverso Tribute Geographic debuts this revered complication in the Tribute line.
The Reverso Tribute Geographic’s front dial exhibits a striking sunray texture, available in deep blue for the steel model and rich chocolate brown for the pink gold edition. A polished metal frame surrounds the large date display, while a circular small seconds subdial subtly balances the design. Turning the case reveals an intricately crafted world time display, with engraved city names, a rotating 24-hour ring, and a meticulously detailed world map. The in-house technique combines laser engraving and lacquering to create a three-dimensional effect, showcasing Jaeger-LeCoultre’s mastery in decorative craftsmanship.
Calibre 834, entirely designed and assembled in-house, powers the Reverso Tribute Geographic. Unlike traditional world timers where the city disc rotates, Jaeger-LeCoultre has opted for a fixed city display with a rotating 24-hour ring, enhancing readability. The time zone adjustment is operated via a discreet pusher hidden between the lugs. The innovative Grande Date mechanism ensures both digits align perfectly within the limited space of the rectangular case.
This masterpiece is presented with two interchangeable straps designed by Casa Fagliano, reflecting the Maison’s dedication to timeless aesthetics and technical ingenuity.
