Greubel Forsey Hand Made 2

Greubel Forsey continues its exploration of traditional craftsmanship with the Hand Made 2, a remarkable successor to the Hand Made 1 introduced in 2019. This watch embodies a dedication to artisanal watchmaking, where 96% of its components are meticulously crafted by hand, requiring over 5,000 hours of manual labor.

Housed in a compact 40.9mm white gold case with a thickness of 12.8mm, the Hand Made 2 is a testament to precision and artistry. Unlike its predecessor, which featured a tourbillon, this model opts for a traditional regulating organ. The manually crafted balance spring, including coiling, cutting, and adjusting terminal curves, ensures unmatched precision.

The movement comprises 270 components, nearly all handmade using traditional tools like a lathe and jig-borer, achieving tolerances comparable to modern CNC machines. Even hidden parts receive exceptional finishing, showcasing frosted German silver, polished chamfers, and Grand Feu enamel dials. The design also features thermally blued steel hands and a handcrafted power reserve indicator made of synthetic ruby.

The Hand Made 2 is a four-hand timepiece displaying hours, minutes, small seconds, and a 72-hour power reserve. Assembly is carried out entirely by a single watchmaker, emphasizing exclusivity and craftsmanship. Each year, only two to three pieces are produced, making it one of the rarest creations from Greubel Forsey. Priced at CHF 620,000, the Hand Made 2 is a masterpiece of horology.
