Citizen Tsuyosa Small Second Automatic

One of the standout releases of 2024 hails from Citizen, a well-established brand renowned for innovation. Introducing a new iteration to the Tsuyosa model family, Citizen continues to defy conventions in the entry-level segment.

The Tsuyosa model family, debuting in 2022, not only disrupted the entry-level automatic watch segment but also reaffirmed Citizen’s prominence in mechanical watches among enthusiasts. Now, it expands further with a captivating new sub-group.

Citizen Tsuyosa, lauded since its inception for its contemporary design, impeccable craftsmanship, premium materials, automatic caliber, and vibrant dials, ventures into complications with its latest model while enhancing existing components for superior quality and functionality.

The new model showcases a Tsuyosa-style stainless steel case crafted with a 40mm diameter and 11.7mm height, boasting a water resistance of 50 meters. The sleek case features a combination of matte and polished surfaces, complemented by a sapphire crystal at the front and a transparent case back. Notably, an elegant winding crown sits at the 4 o’clock position, adding to its allure.

The focal point of the series lies within the dial. Departing from the simplicity of its predecessors, the new Citizen Tsuyosa Small Seconds models sport a sub-dial with a small second counter at 6 o’clock. Adorned with a Guilloché-inspired pattern reminiscent of the Art Deco era, the dials offer color options in gray, blue, or salmon, each featuring luminous indices and a silver sub-seconds counter. A subtle hint of color graces the second hand, adding a dash of character.

Beneath the transparent case back lies the new and enhanced Caliber 8322 movement. Featuring silver-toned bridges and ribbon-style decorations, this movement boasts a 60-hour power reserve and a stop-second function, elevating its appeal.

The new models in blue and salmon are available with a steel bracelet featuring enlarged central glossy parts, a hidden button-controlled clasp, and a quick-change system. Meanwhile, the gray model comes with a black leather strap. The Citizen Tsuyosa Small Second series is poised to make its mark in sales points starting April 2024.
