Min. ReadIndependent watchmaker Romain Gauthier expands his iconic C collection with two striking titanium models featuring sleek black dials. Debuting in 2021, the Continuum (C) introduced a sporty edge to Gauthier’s portfolio. The latest additions include a closed-dial version and a semi-open-worked model, both showcasing his signature attention to detail and craftsmanship.
The 41mm Grade 5 titanium case boasts a unique bezel with six polished scalloped facets contrasting its satin-finished surfaces. Water-resistant to 50m, the watch measures 9.95mm in height, 49.5mm lug-to-lug, and weighs just 85g. Its integrated titanium bracelet mirrors the case’s refined finishes, blending satin-brushed links with polished accents.
The semi-open-worked dial features horizontal black PVD grooves, adding texture and depth. Off-centered elements—a hallmark of Gauthier—include slightly shifted hour and minute hands and a small seconds counter at 7 o’clock. The counter reveals the escapement assembly, framed by a titanium bridge with a grainy boucharder finish. Super-LumiNova fills the hands, numerals, and indices for optimal legibility.
The manual-winding movement offers a 60-hour power reserve and a unique stop-seconds function. Using a snail cam, the balance wheel receives an impulse to restart when the crown is pushed back in.
Non-limited editions, the closed-dial model (CHF 42,000) and semi-open-worked version (CHF 52,000) exemplify Romain Gauthier’s modern watchmaking mastery.
