I constantly check Kickstarter, the showplace for microbrands. Kickstarter, which is a perfect pre-sale platform for groundbreaking products from extraordinary minds, also creates a unique promotional opportunity for newly established watch brands. This is exactly how I met SpaceOne.

By the way, the name of this brand was Argon at the beginning. It had achieved a budget exceeding 1 million Euros during the pre-sales process with the SpaceOne model. Nothing less could be expected from such a "different" design. Then a shocking development occurred. Aragon Watches complained to the competent authorities about Argon due to the similarity in names, and the pre-sale campaign was canceled! I'll quickly skip over the annoying details. Argon did not give up and turned the product name into a brand name. Introducing: SpaceOne watches.

There is a genius mind behind the model; Guillauma Laidet. The founder of the SpaceOne brand, he also partners and/or consults with names such as Nivada, Vulcain, and Excelsior Park. My reaction when I first saw SpaceOne watches was; Hey, I remember this design from somewhere! I think the extraordinary form, the jump hour complication, and the story of De Bethune Dream Watch 5 inspired the SpaceOne watches.

SpaceOne watches are produced in France. They measure 42mm x 51.67mm x 12.6mm and have stainless steel, titanium, or carbon case options. The case, which is water resistant to 30 meters, displays hour and minute discs through a window made of sapphire crystal. For the production of this watch, Laudet worked with Theo Auffret. Auffret developed and produced the jump hour module on the Soprod P024 automatic caliber. The caliber, which has a 38-hour power reserve, displays the time with discs. The case weights of the watches are 90gr for stainless steel, 60gr for titanium, and 30gr for carbon. The straps add another 30 grams to these values.

Watches are produced in two different configurations for people who use both their right and left hands. You can access these two models with all 3 materials and different surface workmanship. List prices of SpaceOne watches vary between 1500 and 1900 Euros. You also need to add taxes for your country to this price.
