Min. ReadCelebrating the 75th anniversary of Formula 1, TAG Heuer solidifies its position as the motorsport's Official Timekeeper, marking the start of a new chapter. This transition follows last year’s announcement of a 10-year partnership between LVMH and Formula 1, replacing Rolex in the timekeeping role. TAG Heuer has leveraged this milestone to unveil five new Formula 1 automatic chronographs, including a special Oracle Red Bull Racing edition.
The refreshed 44mm case, crafted from grade-2 titanium, boasts bold, angular lines said to echo F1 car aerodynamics. While some compare the design to Porsche Design or Seiko's Samurai, its 47.3mm lug-to-lug dimension ensures a wearable profile. Four of the models feature DLC-coated cases and aluminum tachymeter bezels, while one opts for a natural titanium finish for added contrast. All watches are powered by TAG Heuer’s Caliber 16, based on the ETA 7750.
Each model sports vibrant accents, with color choices including lime green, light blue, and red. The black dials are adorned with lacquered tracks around the applied indices, and matching hues accentuate the bezel and chronograph hands. The DLC-coated versions pair with black rubber straps, revealing a mid-layer matching the dial accents, while the non-coated variant comes with a striking red strap.
The standout Oracle Red Bull Racing edition features a sandblasted titanium case, a forged carbon bezel, and a blue dial with a checkered pattern in the team’s iconic colors. Its caseback prominently displays the Red Bull Racing logo, underscoring the collaboration.
Availability begins in February, with staggered releases throughout the year.
