Min. ReadIntroducing the Omega Speedmaster Pilot Flight Qualified, a new chronograph inspired by pilots' needs, merging military aesthetics with the legacy of the Speedmaster series. Drawing influence from the 1969 Flightmaster, this model channels its aviation-focused heritage into a modern design.
The case measures 40.85mm in diameter and 49.60mm in length, boasting a fully brushed stainless steel finish for a rugged look. The matte black aluminum bezel features the iconic "Dot Over Ninety" tachymeter scale, highlighted with orange accents. Topped with a box-shaped sapphire crystal, the watch is water-resistant up to 100 meters and measures 14.6mm in thickness, offering practicality for everyday wear.
The standout feature is its aviation-themed dial. The matte black base is framed by a brushed metallic minutes track with large 3D Super-LumiNova hour markers. Its hands blend functionality and style, with orange and yellow details reminiscent of cockpit instruments. The chronograph sub-dial at 3 o’clock features a triangular orange hand and "burn rate" inspired markings, while the small seconds at 9 o’clock mimics a target sight aesthetic with a blue artificial horizon.
Powering this timepiece is the in-house caliber 9900, an automatic Master Chronometer movement certified by METAS. Featuring a column wheel, vertical clutch, and Co-Axial escapement, it provides 60 hours of power reserve, high accuracy, and exceptional magnetic resistance. The time zone function allows seamless adjustments for pilots on the move.
The watch is paired with a polished flat 3-link steel bracelet equipped with a comfort adjustment system. It also comes with a Kevlar-reinforced grey NATO strap, a travel pouch, and a strap-changing tool for versatility.
Released as part of Omega’s permanent collection, the Speedmaster Pilot Flight Qualified is a perfect balance of heritage and modernity, ready to captivate aviation enthusiasts and Speedmaster fans alike.
