Min. ReadShellman, a renowned watch retailer in Tokyo, has collaborated with Raymond Weil to create a limited-edition version of the Millesime Centre Seconds, a vintage-inspired model. Known for curating a collection of independent brands and vintage pieces, Shellman has previously worked with prestigious Swiss names like Habring and Andersen Genève. This latest collaboration delivers a refined take on the Millesime, a watch that combines modern sophistication with retro charm.
The Shellman Millesime Centre Seconds preserves the original model's 39.5mm diameter and 9.25mm thickness, along with its iconic Calatrava-style case with a coin-edge profile. However, the bezel has been slimmed down, giving the watch a visually thinner appearance. The stainless steel case features a mix of finishes: a vertically brushed bezel with a polished bevel, brushed sides, and polished lug surfaces. A box-shaped sapphire crystal adds to the vintage appeal of the design.
The most striking updates are found on the golden champagne dial. The center of the dial is domed, giving the hour, minute, and seconds tracks a sloping appearance. The circular-brushed finish on the seconds and minutes tracks results in a darker champagne shade, while the smooth satin finish on the hour ring provides a lighter, golden tone. The double indices at 12 o'clock are replaced with a Breguet-style Arabic numeral, and the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock markers are vintage-inspired bar shapes. The dial's center features an embossed crosshair, dividing it into four sections, each with a vertical brushed finish, giving the dial added depth and dimension.
Inside, the watch is powered by a reliable Sellita SW 200 automatic movement with a customized W-shaped rotor, visible through the sapphire caseback. It operates at 4Hz and provides a power reserve of 41 hours. A distressed calfskin leather strap with a traditional pin buckle complements the vintage aesthetics of the Millesime Shellman Edition.
This exclusive timepiece is limited to just 30 pieces and will be available at Shellman’s three Tokyo locations starting March 1, 2025. Priced at JPY 308,000 (approx. EUR 1,915), it offers an elegant and timeless look for collectors and enthusiasts a like.
