Grand Seiko unveils the SBGC275, a limited-edition Spring Drive Chronograph GMT, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Spring Drive 9R Caliber. With a vibrant ‘Morgenrot’ red dial and enhanced accuracy, this timepiece continues the legacy of precision and style set by its predecessors.

The SBGC275 maintains the bold and angular design of its predecessors, housed in a high-intensity titanium case dubbed the Tokyo Lion for its imposing presence and strength. The case features Zaratsu polishing, sharp brushing, and a large ribbed screw-down crown and polished pushers, adorned with the GS logo.

Inspired by the fiery red morning glow over the Hotaka Peaks, the ‘Morgenrot’ dial showcases broad brushstrokes reminiscent of a lion’s mane, with contrasting sub-dials for chronograph counters and running seconds. The layout prioritizes legibility with applied hour indices and hands, complemented by a date aperture and power reserve indicator.

Powered by the Spring Drive caliber 9R96, the SBGC275 boasts enhanced accuracy of +/- 0.5 seconds per day, displayed through a transparent sapphire case back. The movement features a column-wheel chronograph mechanism, 72-hour power reserve, and automatic winding functionality, highlighted by an 18k gold medallion on the rotor.

Completing the timepiece is a titanium H-link bracelet with a three-fold clasp and micro-adjustment mechanism, ensuring both style and comfort. Limited to 700 pieces, the SBGC275 Tokyo Lion will be available exclusively through Grand Seiko salons and boutiques starting July 1st.
